4 posts · Joined 2008. #1 · Apr 9, 2008. Just bought myself a focus 2001 1.6 zetec. Run fine at first but seems to have developed some sort of misfire. Say your doing about 30-40mph in 4th, I put my foot down and it seems to stutter or misfire. I will do it in other gears at low speed also, but once the speed has been built up, it goes fine.

Yup, its a safety issue. If you notice, all continental cars have this feature right up to Merc and BMW.
