I am wondering if buying real replacement parts for the iPhone is possible. Some 3rd party iPhone repair stores claim to have "genuine iPhone glass". I've heard rumours that only Apple has the real glass, and it's not possible to buy and use to repair iPhones, unless you're certified by Apple. Is this true? Those stores are flat out liars.

The only way to get rid of it would be to have the display replaced by Apple or an authorized service provider with a genuine Apple display. A common problem with refurbished iPhones is the non genuine screen warning which appears on the iPhone 11 and above when a replacement screen is fitted by anyone apart from Apple. If a screen is not genuine or has been replaced by a third party the Important Display Message appears on the lock screen for four days and in Settings for 15 days.
The warning will show up on the Lock screen for four days before moving to the Settings. The warning is meant to alert users and technicians when a non-genuine Apple display is installed. The iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will notify you when a non-genuine Apple display is used for repair.
